Alaska Sea Duck Hunts
Our sea duck hunts here in Junea Alaska are amazing. With just a short flight from Seattle we are in a very convenient location to harvest your first harlequin, barrows goldeneye, and many more.
Harlequin
Starting mid October you can start hunting these plumed out beautiful ducks. We have a very healthy population of harlequin here in the Juneau area. Even when the weather is rough we have coves and inlets where you can target them.
Barrows Golden Eye
These full plume studs tend to take just a little bit longer to get here. Starting the First week of November. When they do though they show up in major numbers. These black and white beaties are a must for any collection and with their whistling wings you will hear your prize bird coming!
Long Tail
We also have populations of long tail ducks here. These gorgeous birds are always a great bonus when we are out decoying harlequin and other ducks.
Scoters
We have an overwhelming amount of scoters here is the Juneau area. Its hard to beat sitting in the boat or on a rock pile and having 40 plus scoters flying low on the water right at you! We have all three species here with surf scoters being the most abundant.

On a typical day we start by taking the boat out at first light, then heading to one of our hunting areas. Which area we use is dependent on the weather and what birds you want to hunt. We have lots of coves and inlets where multiple bird species overlap. We offer all day hunts that go as late as our weather and shooting light will allow. We do bring snacks, water, and hot beverages on the boat while hunting. The weather here during the winter is typically cold and wet. So we suggest dressing in very warm layers and bringing high quality rain gear. Also rubber boots are a must, we recommend insulated rubber boots if possible. There can be high winds so its important to bring clothing that can block it. Waders are optional. The guides handle the retrieving of birds and we keep our clients dry. We have options on how to hunt depending on our clients ability and comfort. We can hunt from one of the main boats for the most comfort. We also have layout boats for that up close action. Also in some areas we will be hunting off rock piles or exposed sunken reefs at low tide.
Filming and Photography
we have a photographer who can help capture your hunt. Pricing starts at $200.00 per day which includes edited pictures and video.
